Tip for cleaning your sinks

To clean your sinks:

Sprinkle some baking soda in the sink, then add a few drops of either the tea tree oil OR lavendar oil.  Scrub, rinse, dry.  It leaves the room smelling nice and fresh.

I’ve needed to get to the chiropractor for a week, but with the hours I have been working, I wasn’t able to go until yesterday.  Felt MUCH better until this morning.  While trying to get out of bed, I had tears streaming down my face because I hurt so badly.

Today was my day off, and I wanted to stay home since it was nearly 35 degrees below zero with the wind chill.  However, I knew I needed to go back to my trusty chiropractor.   I’ve spent most of the day resting, using the massager, and ice to relieve the pain.  When my back goes out like this, one side will stick out more than the other, so I look lopsided.  How sexy is that????

This sure wasn’t how I was hoping to spend my day off work, but at least I had today to take care of myself.  I just hope that tomorrow is a much better day because the next two days are going to be really long ones.

Working Out Update

I had something rather interesting happen this week.  On Wednesday, I worked a 12 hour shift, so I wasn’t able to work out that day.  On top of that, I felt like I ate quite a bit yesterday too.  And when dd came home from small group, she had french fries, so I was eating some of them right before heading to bed.  So…..imagine my surprise when I got on the Wii Fit Plus this morning for my daily body test and discovered that I dropped 2.4 pounds overnight!!!

I’ve been at a plateau for quite some time.  I can’t seem to drop any more weight.  With being hypoglycemic, I can’t cut out much protein from my diet or my sugar bottoms out.  So it can be frustrating to work out so hard, and not see my clothes getting looser on me.  It makes me wonder — perhaps I need to be taking in MORE food than what I have been.  Maybe I’m not eating enough and so what I take in, my body wants to hold on to.  Any thoughts from anyone on this one?????

Granted, I am still gaining muscle mass.  When I flex my arms, they are very solid, and I couldn’t say that a couple of months ago.  I’m still working my inner thighs, and more muscle mass is building there.  But I want my clothes to be getting LOOSER on me — not TIGHTER!!!!

Productive Day

In between working 12 hour shifts, I had today off.  I managed to get quite a bit accomplished:

  • slept in ’til 8:00 (I’m normally up at 4:45.)
  • did my Shaun T Extreme Cardio workout
  • made facial cleanser
  • made body sugar scrub
  • took a long, hot shower
  • did a load of laundry
  • got the ironing finished
  • got my clothes figured out for the next four days
  • took freezer inventory
  • made 2 batches of brownies from my homemade mix
  • visited with a neighbor whose hubby died on Monday
  • helped dd with her home school stuff
  • made supper
  • figured out meals for the weekend (I’m working the weekend)
  • got on pinterest for a while
  • cleaned out the fridge with dd’s help
  • washed dishes at least five times today

Still need to do:

  • Bible study
  • hem a pair of pants — that may wait until next week on my day off since it is supposed to -15 degrees that day.  (That is -26 Celsius for my friends who don’t use Fahrenheit.)  IOW — VERY, VERY cold!!!!

My brilliant idea!

Since this has been a very long, hard, bitterly cold, snowy winter, here’s my thought for Groundhog Day:  Someone needs to be standing at the groundhog’s hole, with a gun that is fully loaded and ready to go.  Shoot him before he gets a chance to see his shadow!!!
