Highs and Lows of Life

Last year was a year of highs for me.  Hubby and I celebrated 25 years of marriage.  I turned 50.  And I started a new job in the hospital that I absolutely love.
This year — well, to put it bluntly….it sucks.  It started out with my paycheck being $200 less per month, thanks to Obamacare.  We’ve had several unexpected expenses on top of that.  I started out the year with some back issues, which required several visits to the chiropractor.

And let’s not forget that the winter season lasted forever.  We are just now starting to have several spring-like days.
I had a nasty sinus infection a while back that caused me to miss work.  The antibiotic caused a yeast infection, which caused a UTI.  Not a fun couple of weeks there.  That followed with my brother dying just a few weeks later.  That same day a close relative was hospitalized for something quite serious.  A few days after that, my mom was in the ER.  And ever since my brother died, on top of the grief that I deal with on a daily basis, I am battling frequent headaches that are probably migraines, followed with dizziness.  (Probably due to stress)
And today I will have the house to myself for several hours, and I’m NOT looking forward to it.  I wanted some alone-time with dh, but he is elsewhere today.  Emotionally, after losing my brother, I prefer to have other people around me.
Anyway, I am ready for something good, something positive, something fun.  Perhaps dd’s upcoming graduation open house in a few months will help with that…

  1. I’m so sorry for all your losses! I hope that you heal well and quickly… and just a random thing, I’ve heard of headaches and dizzy spells like that being demonic attack (not possession or anything but definitely some kind of spiritual warfare). Stasi Eldredge writes a little about her experiences with that in her book about beauty, Captivating. Worth a look into it if you keep experiencing them. They usually don’t just go away without serious prayer against whatever is attacking you.

Then again, it could just be physiological 🙂 Just thought I’d share with you what I know. 🙂
