Miracles still happen

This week marks FIVE YEARS since the Lord delivered me from asthma.  It has been FIVE YEARS since I have used an inhaler.  If you need a miracle, I encourage you to read my asthma testimony.

Great promise from Isaiah 54

Isaiah 54 Jubilee Bible 2000 (JUB)
In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with eternal mercy I will have compassion on thee, said the LORD thy Redeemer.
For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so I have sworn that I would not be wroth again with thee, nor reprehend thee.
10 For the mountains shall be removed, and the hills shall tremble; but my mercy shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be changed, said the LORD that has mercy on thee.
I found great comfort and encouragement in this, seeing that just as He swore to Noah regarding the floods, He also swears to us that His covenant of peace will be with us as things fall apart on this earth prior to His glorious return.
And then later in the chapter, we find this:
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the slaves of the LORD, and their justice from me, said the LORD.

The Patchy Fog

As I was driving to work early Tuesday morning, there was patchy fog.  In one area, it was really thick.  Once I entered that area, I could only see a short distance in front of me.  I sensed the Lord saying, “This is how it will be for you shortly.  You won’t be able to see in the distance.  You will feel as if you are in a deep fog, but child, do not fear.  I will lead you where you need to go.  I will show you the way.”
Then I came to work and start reading in Isaiah, where I left off the day before.  Here is what I saw:
Isaiah 42:16 Jubilee Bible 2000 (JUB)
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will cause them to walk in paths that they have not known; I will make darkness light before them and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them and not forsake them.
I love how the Lord confirms to us His Word.  How comforting in such trying times!

We’ve entered a new phase

As I was driving to work early on July 9, I was pondering the recent shootings of our precious law enforcement officers in Dallas, Texas.  As I was praying for their families, for all officers who are mourning the deaths of their comrades, and for our nation, I realized that I felt a different “feeling in the air.”  As I paused and thought about it, I got the sense the Lord was saying, “We’ve now entered a new phase.”  I knew He was telling me that life as we’ve known it will never be the same.

Let’s take a look at the events transpiring since the Dallas shootings on July 7:

  • 84 people were killed in France when a man plowed a truck into them during celebrations there.
  • BLM marches are causing disruptions in many cities as they block streets and highways with their protests.
  • There was the military coup in Turkey and our military was forced to stay on their base w/no electricity.
  • 6 police officers were shot in Baton Rouge, LA.  3 are dead, with one barely clinging to life.
  • A police officer in Milwaukee, WI was shot while sitting in his squad car.  The suspect fled the scene, then killed himself.
  • A man is holding people hostage in a Burger King in Baltimore, MD.
  • And we still have the Republican Convention starting tomorrow, where more violence and unrest is expected.
  • And that doesn’t even count the full moon we will have on Tuesday, and yes, those full moons really do cause things to get crazy!  Ask any police officer, nurse who works in the ER, or those who work with the mentally ill.

Yes, indeed.  We really have entered a new phase.  I heard a phrase several months ago and it bears repeating because I believe there is a lot of truth in it.  “Each day we have is the best day of our life from here on out.”

Friends, hold tightly to Jesus.  Put down your computer, cell phone, tablet, Netflix, and Hulu.  Pick up your bible and keep your nose in the Word of God.  A lot of confusion and deception is going to take place in the coming months.  The only way to clearly make your way through it is to learn to hear the voice of God and learn to discern the leading of our Lord.

Psalm 35:27

I found a “nugget” tonight as I was reading the Word.

Psalm 35:27 Modern English Version (MEV)

27 May those who favor my righteous cause
    shout for joy and be glad;
may they say continually, “The Lord be magnified,
who delights in the peace of His servant.”

Do you see it?  God DELIGHTS when we are at peace!  I never thought of it that way.  I knew I delighted when I feel peace, but I love it that HE delights when we are at peace.  It’s kind of like a parent who delights in their child who no longer fears  the darkness of the room when it’s time to go to bed.
